Hatha yoga emphasizes physical exercises as a path to mastering the physical body and balancing the mind. Hatha is the practice of harmonizing the two main energies of the human body, the "ha" meaning sun and "tha",the moon; the masculine and feminine; shiva and shakti. We connect breath to movement with a warm up similar to Bikram's beginner series and then ease into a powerful Vinyasa flow. At the end of class, we cool down with some softer Yin asanas, inversions, circular breath, and a soothing final savasana meditation. Classes are mixed levels with advanced variations offered.
