Come away with us to enjoy an incredible day in the lush agricultural region of Schoharie Valley, once the breadbasket of the American Revolution, we'll explore a variety of sustainable farms and tastes along the way. After jumping in our comfortable 15 passenger van for a picturesque drive our first stop is the 80 foot Mine Kill Falls. Then off to Barber's 6th generation, 200 acre vegetable farm where Sarah will tour us through the greenhouses and the fields. Then we'll stop at their incredible farm stand and taste their home-distilled 1857 vodka. Then we're off to Sap Bush Hollow where Kate will introduce us to the piglets, turkey's, chickens, and lambs. We'll even meet Peeps the guard goose who keeps everyone safe and learn about their sustainable grazing practices. Lunch is a short hop away at the family's incredible cafe where Shannon whips up incredible 3 course meals right off the farm along with gluten free pastries and impeccable coffee. After lunch we'll stop by Ryan's Scrumpy Ewe Cider Tasting room for a flight of exquisitely crafted hard ciders with a cheese pairing. The day ends at Buck Hill Maple where after meeting the cows, Sharon will walk us through how maple syrup is made, teach us the differences in syrup grades and show us how candy is made. With coolers and tote bags, they'll be plenty of opportunities to collect some amazing food to bring home.
